Introducing The Embedded Kit
At SIDO 2023, we are proud to present The Embedded Kit, our comprehensive toolkit designed to empower OEMs to create reliable embedded systems without getting locked-in with service or SaaS providers.
The Embedded Kit offers a range of products to accelerate embedded developments, and we wanted to illustrate these capabilities using a concrete application in the EV charging domain.

Our EV charger demo: a glimpse into the future of embedded software development and maintenance
Imagine a world where EV chargers manufacturers mainly have to focus on their core expertise: the customization of their solution and the development of their business applications.
Our demo at SIDO 2023 serves as a window into this future, as The Embedded Kit ecosystem enables:
1. Rapid development: The heart of The Embedded Kit is Welma, a Yocto-based distribution, which allows OEMs to swiftly develop their EV charger operating system. This not only accelerates the development process but also ensures the reliability and efficiency of the charging system.
2. Security: In an era where cybersecurity is paramount, The Embedded Kit includes a CVE scanner (CVE standing for Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures). This feature continuously monitors the embedded Linux system of the EV charger, looking for potential vulnerabilities and safeguarding it from cyber threats.
3. Quality assurance: To guarantee performance and reliability, The Embedded Kit provides Pluma, an automated testing tool. This tool rigorously assesses the quality of the EV charger throughout its lifetime, ensuring optimal functionality even under heavy usage.
4. Remote management and OTA update: Kamea, the IoT device management platform offered by The Embedded Kit enables remote configuration and updates. This means that EV charger systems can be adapted to evolving standards and user needs without costly on-site visits, promoting efficiency and adaptability.
