Welma-supported hardware to go faster to production
Welma Yocto Linux is compatible with any hardware that supports Linux.
We have integrated Board Support Packages (BSP) from renowned Silicon Vendors and System-on-Module (SOM) and System-on-Chip (SOC) manufacturers to ease your team’s low-level developments.
Pre-qualified hardware
Even if these systems on module (SOM) and systems on chips (SOC) are not actively supported yet, we can easily port our Linux distribution, Welma, onto all these boards to help you save time on your developments. Don’t see your hardware on the list? Just get in touch!

FAQ: Welma Yocto Linux supported hardware hardware
Within Welma, supported hardware means that our software team has already ported the Board Support Packages (BSPs) of several hardware into our Linux distribution (cf. the list above). This hardware software integration work helps engineering teams save development time while ensuring integration quality, as we make sure—thanks to continuous testing with our test bench—of the quality of the integration.
Supported boards are based on processors from major silicon vendors, including NXP, STMicroelectronics, MediaTek, and Intel. We support System-on-Module (SOM) and System on Chips (SoCs) from multiple vendors, including Tria, Ezurio, Congatec, Kontron, and more. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out.
Pre-qualified hardware refers to SOMs and SoCs that we don’t yet support officially, but which have a similar base from another SOM/SoC we already support. In other words, it’s a board that will be easy and quick to support for our software team if you need it! If you find your board in the pre-certified hardware list, this means we can support you in accelerating your hardware/software integration very easily. Just get in touch!
Supported hardware refers to a list of boards we have already integrated into our Linux distribution and which are included in our test bench to ensure integration robustness in the long term. Pre-qualified hardware are boards ready to be ported by our team but haven’t been integrated yet.
By leveraging these BSPs, the Embedded Kit provides immediate support for hardware platforms based on these solutions, reducing development cycles and allowing developers to build customized Yocto images within a matter of hours and quickly focus on the development of their application.
Maintaining embedded systems over time is as critical as their initial development. To address this, the Embedded Kit aligns with the Long-Term Support (LTS) releases and BSP updates provided by silicon vendors and SOM manufacturers, ensuring that embedded systems remain secure and up to date throughout their operational lifespan.
For extended support needs, the Embedded Kit offers partnerships with organizations such as Witekio, providing additional maintenance and upgrade services. This ensures that systems in the field are never left with outdated or unsupported software.
